Our app will safely encrypt and share your important folders, content and documents. To receive folders over Zappaty you don’t need to register, but you do need to download the Zappaty app for Mac or PC.

Sign up for Zappaty

Register with Zappaty, all you need to do is enter your name, company name, email address and create a password to get an account set up. We’ll email you to verify your account.

Download & install the Zappaty app

Once you verify your email address, you’ll get an email to download the Zappaty app (or you can download it straight from the website). You need the Zappaty app on your PC or Mac to safely encrypt and decrypt your files and folders – safe sharing and storage is what makes Zappaty great.

STEP 3

Start sharing files today!

  1. Download and install the Zappaty app on your PC or Mac
  2. Go to Share & Backup in the app
  3. Click Browse to go to the folder you want to share in File Explorer (PC) or Finder (Mac) and select to share – note Zappaty shares Folders rather than individual files (we’re all about the big stuff!)
  4. Sign in to the Zappaty app, if you’re not signed in already*
  5. Enter the email address details and a short message for the recipient – if you just want to backup folders, leave this blank and hit “Backup”
  6. Click ‘Share’ to upload, ready for your recipient.
  7. Your folders are on their way – your recipient will get an email when your content is ready for download and you will see in the app when the recipient has downloaded

Yes, both.  Zappaty supports Windows 10/11 and Mac OS 13 (Ventura) or above. Linux and mobile versions to follow.

Zappaty breaks down the data within your folder, writes it to a blockchain and sends individual blocks to the Zappaty cloud. Zappaty encrypts the files before they leave your machine. When a recipient wants to receive the file, these blocks are reassembled and decrypted for the recipient using their Zappaty app.

Zappaty uses the app to encrypt files for upload to the Zappaty cloud, then the app also decrypts the file at point of download.

Zappaty is primarily targeted at businesses – it handles very large folders, ensures the security of the data being transferred and increases productivity by dealing gracefully with poor internet and broken connections. Great for sharing with colleagues, clients and partners, with price plans aimed at getting the world sharing. If you have an individual need, you can also use Zappaty easily, but personal use is not our main purpose.

No, Zappaty can also be used to backup folders easily and collaborate with clients, partners and colleagues.

When sending, the option for individual files is greyed out meaning you can’t send those individually – Zappaty is engineered for heavy-lifting so you can send large folders containing thousands of files or a small number of files in a folder if needed. Using folders makes it easier for you to track access.

Every tier of Zappaty includes unlimited users, meaning you can connect an unlimited number of machines to your folder if required (fair use policy applies).

You will still be able to work on your folder offline, however you must be online to upload or download files of course.

Yes, you fully own the content you share with Zappaty’s help. It’s yours to share, not ours.

You will receive an alert in the app confirming when your folders have been uploaded.

You will receive an email confirming that a recipient has downloaded the folders you sent. If you are the owner of the folder you can also see who has downloaded your content in the ‘Manage folders’ section of the app.

The link must be used in 7 days but once utilised you can take whatever time you like.

The sender can create a new link within the Zappaty app at any time.

They will receive an email confirming that the folder from you is available for download.

Zappaty offers large storage and secure encryption – we use an app to encrypt content. We don’t charge by upload or download quantity and don’t limit the number of users.

Unlike WeTransfer, you can allow colleagues to make changes to the folder, or add new files and send you the revised version back.
